OverviewExcerpt from Short Range Anti-Correlation of Electrons in the Hydrogen Molecule At points where two or more electrons coincide, the analytic behavior of trial functions commonly used in rayleigh-ritz calculations differ from that of solutions of Schrodinger's equation. Consequently, these trial func tions are poor approximations to the correct eigenfunctions in domains where the distance between two electrons is sufficiently small. We attempt to study the resulting error in the rayleigh-ritz energy estimate by improving the trial function in these domains. We do not expect to achieve this by superposing functions with the incorrect analytic behavior. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
