Author Information

DR. SEEKU CLELAND has lived in Maryland with his family for the past 17 years. Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Dr. Cleland is proud of his heritage and has infused his work with Ghanaian cultural symbolism and themes. Dr. Cleland is currently a science and modern world history educator at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). This book is dedicated to the memory of his late father Ambassador Joseph Quao Cleland, his mentor and hero, and to his surviving mother, Mrs. Naadu Sarah Cleland. Mrs. Cleland is a strong woman who raised her children to respect all regardless of sex, race, creed, or national identity, a recurring theme in many of Dr. Cleland's poems.
