Eihei Dogen (Kioto, 26 de enero de 1200 - Ib., 29 de septiembre de 1253) fue un maestro budista japon�s fundador de la escuela Soto del Zen en este pa�s. Su obra maestra, Shobogenzo, es una de las cumbres de la literatura Zen. Escrita a lo largo de m�s de veinte a�os, se compone en sus ediciones modernas de 95 cap�tulos o fasc�culos. Dogen trat� en ellos una gran variedad de temas, desde indicaciones pr�cticas para la organizaci�n de la vida monacal o la correcta pr�ctica del zazen, a recuerdos de su viaje a China o reflexiones filos�ficas, entre las cuales destaca su concepci�n del tiempo.
