Vice-President of the Australian Institute for Maritime Archaeology and an Honorary Research Fellow with the Archaeology Department of Flinders University, Michael is co-author (along with maritime historian Graeme Broxam), of Tasmanian Shipwrecks (a survey of over one thousand wreck sites around Tasmania) and The Bay Whalers (short-listed for the Tasmanian Bicentennial History Prize).
