WINSTON GROOM is the author of fourteen previous books, includingPatriotic Fire,Shrouds of Glory, Forrest Gump, andConversations with the Enemy(with Duncan Spencer), which was a Pulitzer Prize finalist. He lives with his wife and daughter in Point Clear, Alabama.
