OverviewThe theme addressed in this book arose from the author's work as a clinical psychologist with a humanistic approach and as a university professor in pedagogy and other degree programmes, which prompted questions about some social representations regarding the ""good teacher"" Should teachers never show emotions, no matter what happens? Is hiding one's feelings from students a sign of emotional balance on the part of the teacher? Do teachers usually have favourites among their students? Does the ideal teacher know the answers to all questions? Should all teachers strive to become immune to emotions, hide their feelings, avoid favouritism and know all the answers? Or are these goals inhuman and unattainable? Drawing on the Person-Centred Approach and analysing the position of some primary school teachers, the author seeks to shed light on these representations and their impact on teaching practice.
