She published a monograph titled Slovak Jewish Community in the History of Hlohovec (1938–1945): The Story Through Darkness. Anna Cichopek-Gajraj is an associate professor of history at Arizona State University. Her book, Beyond Violence: Jewish Survivors in Poland and Slovakia, 1944–1948, was a finalist for the 2016 Jordan Schnitzer Book Award and a recipient of the 2015 Barbara Heldt Prize Honorable Mention. Joanna Beata Michlic is a senior honorary fellow at the UCL Institute of Education, and is one of the three editors-in-chief of Genealogy Journal.
