Reviews

An Indie Bestseller! ★""Themes of conservation and workers' rights sit comfortably alongside a story about being accepting and finding strength in community in this gleefully biting fable."" -Booklist, starred review ""Stand aside, little mermaids. The true, pointy-toothed protector of the seas is here!... A scaly new hero sure to save the day--and to endear herself to readers."" -Kirkus ""[E]xuberant cartooning from Beaton (King Baby) keeps this cheeky ""Little Mermaid"" variation swimming to a fish-friendly finale."" -Publishers Weekly ""[A] picture of genuine ferocity and appealing silliness. There's a curriculum bonus here too, as the problem of overfishing is embedded both in the narrative and in the endpapers, perhaps sparking discussion of environmental and marine conservation."" -BCCB
