Shannon Rice is the mother of four beautiful children - Katelyn, Ashley, Trevor and Matthew. Katelyn, her oldest, was diagnosed with autism and psychosis as a very young child and lives at a wonderful residential school.Shannon is an autism and mental health advocate, as well as a former high school math teacher. Her experiences as a mother and her love of math inspired her to write her first children's book series, ADVENTURES IN SHAPELAND, which introduces young children to important concepts like feelings and emotions, while also teaching them basic geometric shapes!Shannon is also an artist and enjoys abstract painting. She and her husband Jason live in Connecticut. They have six kitties, Mocha, Chip, Dorito, Moo Moo, Jasper and Poe.
