Largely autobiographical account of a journey through an enclosed Catholic monastery and out again. Humourous episodes included, e.g., how Peers managed to dye the communities large cotton knickerbockers pink as the laundry monk. On a more serious note, he describes his consistent search for peace. Somewhere in our minds we know that this world we live in, is not home to us. There is a deep and inexpressible longing inside to find and return to our true home. Yet every morning the world we see is, like it or not, still there. We long to be at home in it. To be what we truly are. To generate 'home' right now. And this, our deepest longing, has a power: the energy to re-set our course, melt away stress from our face, and boost confidence. This book describes the author's forging of a path through the 'thin place' between both the Buddhist and Christian traditions to an new yet ancient space in the forest of thought. Here a new seeds can be sown for the future of humanity. This book doesn't concern itself with rituals or herbs or any other aspects now associated with mainstream Druidry available in many other places. Instead, it confines itself to the empowerment that comes from within. Only after leaving the monastery did I discover the direction that was to finally make sense of my long disciplined formation as a monk. This book shows us the way to reconnect with our roots to find direction for the future in a rooted way of living within an world increasingly superficial and estranged from itself.
