Overview

In 1564 Shakespearean judgments on Keynesian legislation, SHAKESPEARE VERSUS kEYNES reveals that winning never multiplies from wasting, that affluence is not accrued from effluence, that profit is no fruit of prodigality, that thrift befits a thriver more than losses of lavishment, and that owners are more procreant than the disowners taxing them. Each judgment is a couplet in compact pentameter. No slackness is allowed. As a work of English literature this book should be gauged by Shakespearean measures. Waxing withdrawn, not waning in the mass, I separate myself in Shakespeare's class. - F L Light

Author Information

Works of F L Light have lately appeared in Classical Outlook, The International Poetry Review, The Westward Review, Decanto, Poetry Life & Times, The Raintown Review, Troglodyte, and his translation of the first book of Homer's Iliad is appearing serially in Sonnetto Poesia. A book similar to this in style, The Little Code of Laissez-Faire, was published in 2008 He swings with the same fist that Shakespeare swung Who gave his Tybalt a pugnacious tongue. Light should be commensurately gauged by Shakespearean measures of literature.
