DEBORAH E. BARKER teaches American literature and feminist criticism at the University of Mississippi. She Is currently completing a study on the on of female visual artists in nineteenth century American fiction. IVO RAMPS is Assistant Professor of English at the University of Mississippi. Ivo Is the author of Staging History: Historiography, Ideology, and Literary Form In the Stuart Drama (forthcoming) and editor of Shakespeare Left and Right and Materialist Shakespeare.
