At the turn of this century, Shaken Baby Syndrome hit the headlines as babies, thought to have been injured by their parents were taken into care in large numbers. Parents, often without funds to obtain legal representation, were offered a list of solicitors who would represent them in court. This legal representation was paid for by the very organisation that was removing these babies from their parents. The outcome of any trial appeared to be a done deal. Courts were informed that there couldn't be any other explanation for the injuries that the babies presented with. Often vital evidence was not heard even if it had been gathered. Injustice upon injustice was thrust upon families too bewildered to defend themselves other than protest their innocence. This book looks at one particular case of alleged Shaken Baby Syndrome that occurred around the time. It also looks at alternative explanations which although they had been flagged up as matters of concern were effectively kept from public view. It is alright raising concerns but the information it contains needs disseminating and, it was not. One may question why not.
