Shadow Manifest

Overview

Braxton Mays has unlimited resources, a broken heart, and a burning need for justice. After the overdose death of his daughter, the tech mogul disappears from the public eye. He isn't mourning in a boardroom; he is retrofitting his 120-foot superyacht, the Bluebird, for combat. Recruiting a crew of elite ex-SEALs and equipping the vessel with military-grade technology, Braxton unearths a dusty 1942 Executive Order: The Coastal Picket Patrol. A forgotten wartime statute that authorized private vessels to engage hostile threats in U.S. waters. In Braxton's mind, the traffickers are as dangerous as the U-boat menace of WWII, and he is the captain of the only ship willing to hunt them down and break the supply chain. But as Braxton closes in on the enemy's elusive ""Mothership"" in the deep trenches of the Bahamas, his crusade draws the attention of Kathleen O'Brien, his estranged supermodel ex-wife, and Agent Lawson, a relentless Coast Guard investigator tracking the trail of burning boat wrecks. When the Bluebird finally corners its prey in the teeth of a tropical storm, Braxton prepares to deliver the killing blow. But what he finds in the belly of the enemy ship shatters his resolve and changes the mission instantly. Trapped between a hurricane and a mercenary hit squad sent to erase all evidence, Braxton must decide if he is a soldier following orders, or a father willing to burn the world down to save what remains of it.
