Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationAn ongoing thread in my personal and professional education and training has been an interest in how the mind and body work together in creating high level health. I have studied Eastern and Western approaches to creating high-level health and incorporate both in my writing and work with students and clients. My approach to health coaching integrates such diverse modalities as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, physical activity, meditation, relaxation training, and Naikan self-reflection. I have a doctorate in health education, a masters degree in counseling, and a bachelor's degree in psychology. As a Board Certified Coach (BCC), Counselor (NCC), and Health Education Specialist (CHES) I have been able to take the best from each of these helping professions and mold them into a unique approach to helping people reach their goals and maximize their potential. In addition to my coaching practice, I am a full-time tenured university professor with over 25 years of experience teaching stress management, human sexuality, health counseling, and a host of other subjects in person and at a distance. I am the author of four textbooks, four self-help books, and several journal articles. Writing is a passion of mine that is a natural extension of my work with clients and students. My personal interests are fitness (swimming, rowing, biking, weight training, basketball), hiking and anything that gets me outdoors. I like to canoe and kayak and play tennis with Heidi, my wife of 40 years. I also like to read, cook, travel (especially to visit my sons), and learn new things as often as possible. I am an avid watcher of sunsets, sunrises, and clouds Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
