OverviewHigh Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Seventeen is an American magazine for teenagers. It was first published in 1944 by Walter Annenberg's Triangle Publications. News Corporation bought Triangle in 1988, and sold Seventeen to K-III Communications (later Primedia) in 1991. Primedia sold the magazine to Hearst in 2003. It is still in the forefront of newsstand popularity among growing competition. This magazine is mostly for young girls and women from the ages of 12-19. The content of Seventeen includes information and advice about fashion trends, celebrities, beauty, skincare, hair and makeup, dating and lifestyles. It embraces many topics including body image and university/college advice. It also has a health section about nutrition and exercise, and quizzes and horoscopes. Articles are kept deliberately brief. High quality photographs emphasize regular celebrity and clothing themes. Seventeen is supported by advertising targeted towards a big-spending demographic of 12 to 19-year-olds. Originally, it was geared towards seventeen-year-olds, (hence the name), but since then has targeted a wider demographic. Many current issues have been geared toward college aged women.
