Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationJoel Nizin is a northern New Jersey, double-boarded colorectal surgeon who has been in practice for nearly forty years. He is blessed with one wife, two daughters, and five grandchildren, with one currently on the way. Research on Bahá ' í history, family genealogy, photography, travel, and hiking are among his diverse interests. He has served on numerous Bahá ' í institutions, including the Regional Bahá ' í Council for the Northeastern States. He has created several multiyear programs for youth, including "" Badasht,"" "" Badasht Prep,"" and "" Turning 15."" This is his first book. Gary Hogenson, originally from Michigan, lives in Florida and has a degree in international management. He enjoyed a global career in engineering and finance, which included a decade in Latin America and eighteen years in the Finance Department at the Bahá ' í World Center. He has served on numerous Spiritual Assemblies in the US and Costa Rica, as well as teaching committees in Virginia and Florida. In retirement, he discovered the joy of writing and has published a number of items in professional journals. He is married to Kathryn Hogenson, and they have two daughters and three grandsons. Kathryn Jewett Hogenson, a native of Virginia and resident of Florida, is a lawyer by profession and a historian by choice, as well as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband Gary Hogenson served many years at the international headquarters of the Bahá ' í Faith, and she has also served as a staff member of the US Bahá ' í National Center. A frequent lecturer, she authored Lighting the Western Sky: The Hearst Pilgrimage and the Establishment of the Bahá ' í Faith in the West and Infinite Horizons: The Life and Times of Horace Holley, as well as other published works.
