Author Information

Cornelia Funke is one of the most internationally successful and renowned German children's and YA authors. She has received many awards for her books, including the prestigious German Children's Literature Award in 2020 for her complete works. Ruby Warnecke lives with her family in Hamburg, Germany, where she also completed her Masters in Illustration. During her studies, Ruby spent a year abroad in Baltimore and discovered the joy of creating art for children. Ruby is part of Cornelia Funke's Artists in Residence program. Silke Kleemann (Cologne, 1976) is a translator and writer. She translates mostly novels, children's books, and poetry from Spanish to German. She has received several awards for her literary work, including the Arts Support Award from the Bavatrian Ministry of Culture and the City of Munich Scholarship for Youth Literature. She lives in Munich, Germany. - Silke Kleemann (Colonia, 1976) es traductora y escritora. Mayormente traduce novelas, libros infantiles y poesía del castellano al alemán. Ha recibido varios reconocimientos a su trabajo literario, entre otros el Premio de Apoyo para las Artes del Ministerio de Cultura de Baviera y la Beca para Literatura Juvenil de la Ciudad de Múnich. Vive en Múnich, Alemania. Maria José Ferrada (Chile, 1977) is a journalist and writer. Her books have been translated into twenty languages. She has obtained, among other literary recognitions, the Cervantes Chico Libero-American Prize, the SM Ibero-American Prize for Children's and Young People's Literature, the Ciudad de Orihuela Poetry Pirze, the Hispanic-American Prize for Poetry for Children, and the New Horizons Prize from the Bologna Children's Book Fair. She lives in Santiago, Chile. - María José Ferrada (Chile, 1977) es periodista y escritora. Sus libros han sido traducidos a una veintena de idiomas.
