Overview

President Lois Ackerman declares martial law in the United States in the aftermath of the deadliest terrorist attack in American history. The Emergency Terrorist Act is enacted hastily, severely curtailing constitutional rights for all American citizens, but most particularly for American Muslims. Critics from the left complain of an increasingly authoritarian state. Critics on the right complain that the President is not sufficiently aggressive in her counter-terrorism measures. HomeLand Security is under tremendous pressure to identify the culprits and bring them to justice. Director Janice Hankins is stumped. Special invesigator Syd Ednogchi is recruited to help. He too is mystified as to the motive, method, execution and planning of the attacks. Every search for a clue deepens the mystery. Can anyone untangle the mystery?

Pardu Ponnapalli was born in India. His parents moved back and forth between the United States and India while he was a child. They finally settled in Canada in 1970, where he lived for a number of years. After studying at university for many years, he graduated with a doctorate in Physics.
