Author Information

Beverly Ann Beisgen is the director of operations for development for the West Penn Allegheny Health System. She has been in health care philanthropy for 6 years. In 2001, Ms. Beisgen was awarded the professional designation of certified fund raising executive (CFRE) by the CFRE Certification Board. Prior to that, Ms. Beisgen worked in geriatrics for 19 years and was the assistant executive director of Vintage. She has her master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in human development/gerontology from The Pennsylvania State University. Ms. Beisgen is the author of Life Enhancing Activities for Mentally Impaired Elders, published by Springer Publishing Company in 1989. She also authored the chapter """"Activities to Challenge the Mind and Stimulate the Imagination"""" in Activity Programming for Persons with Dementia: A Sourcebook, published in 1995 by the Alzheimer's Association. Ms. Beisgen has served on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Association of Senior Centers and was a member of the Pennsylvania Department of Aging Statewide Taskforce on Senior Centers. Ms. Beisgen is married to Henry Kacprzyk and has two children, Alex and Katie. ||Marilyn Crouch Kraitchman has a BS in education. She has worked at Vintage for 15 years, where she is currently director of center services. A mother of two children and three stepchildren, she lives in Churchill, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Her hobbies are reading, traveling, and gardening.
