OverviewShe knows what it's like to be left behind. That's why she said yes. When a silent little girl is abandoned at court, Anna isn't the obvious choice to take her in. But something about the child feels painfully familiar--and impossible to walk away from. She thinks it's temporary. Just until the system finds a better option. But then a figure from her past resurfaces--the one she thought she'd escaped for good. He's watching. Waiting. And the closer he gets, the more Anna's carefully rebuilt life begins to splinter. The girl won't speak. Anna won't run. But protecting her means facing the darkness she's spent years trying to forget. Selfish is a tense psychological thriller in the When Bad Things Happen series--gripping, intimate stories of ordinary women whose lives are upended by betrayal, danger, and the unexpected. Mitchell lives on a farm, with her nearest neighbor several miles away. Doesn't that seem like the ideal setting to spark the imagination? She takes long walks with her hundred-pound German Shepherd dogs, Pickles and Dill. (She didn't name them--don't blame her). The Farmers of Goodrich County is a series of clean and wholesome romances set in a western small town, farming region. She's working on her eighth psychological thriller novel for the When Bad Things Happen series. Besides two, three short stories tied to that series, and bonus material at the end of many of the books, she's written six novels, each featuring an autistic child or young adult. Two nonfiction books accompany that autism series. Sharon's been a teacher, counselor, psychologist, and consultant for decades and continues to teach university classes to soon-to-be teachers and administrators. Bianca Bryan is a bilingual English/Spanish voice-over talent who grew up internationally, spending her childhood in Argentina, Chile, El Salvador, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. As a young adult, she spent seventeen years in NYC, receiving her bachelor's in opera from Manhattan School of Music and her MFA in acting from Brooklyn College. While still a stage performer, she now focuses primarily on audiobook narration, with over thirty titles to her name. She finally feels at home telling stories from all over the world from her tiny sound booth. Fun fact, she is the seventh female PA announcer in all of US baseball for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
