Author Information

Dave Thickett joined the British Museum as a conservation scientist in 1990 and moved to the Collections Care Team of English Heritage in 2003. His work has focused on preventive conservation and materials issues and he has published extensively in this area. Lorna Lee worked as a conservation Scientist at the British Museum between 1985 and 1997. During this period one of the consistent themes of her work was the effects of, and prevention of, harmful emissions from the materials used in the storage and display of the collection. She made a major contribution to the understanding of this problem and contributed to the literature through published papers and this British Museum Occasional Paper.
