Shiva Nagendra is Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Vice-Chairman of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) & Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai, India. He has more than 25 years of experience in research, teaching, consultancy, and community engagement. He has published more than 110 research publications in international and national refereed journals, two reference books, and more than 100 papers in conferences. He has been awarded 6 Indian patents. He is Co-Author of books titled “Urban Air Quality Monitoring, Modelling and Human Exposure Assessment” (ISBN: 978-981-15-5511-4) and “Artificial Neural Networks in Vehicular Pollution Modelling” (SCI-41, ISBN-10:3-540-37417-5) published by Springer. He is Director of the Clean Environment for Planetary Health in Asia (CEPHA) Network supported by UKRI. He is Founder-Chairman of the Indian International Conference on Air Quality Management (IICAQM) series. Dr. Praveen C. Ramamurthy is Professor at the Department of Materials Engineering and Chair of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Water Research at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. He completed M.Sc. in polymer science from the University of Mysore and Ph.D. from Clemson University in 2004. He worked as R&D Engineer in Therm-O-Disc, Ohio, the USA, and as Research Scientist in Hoku Scientific, Honolulu, Hawaii, the USA. He joined IISc in the year 2007 and works as Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering. His current research focuses on organic electronics and sensors for analytes like VOCs, heavy metal ions, nitrate, and biosensors. He has more than 270 peer-reviewed papers published and 21 patents to his credit. Dr. Sotiris Vardoulakis is Professor of Environmental Public Health and Director of the Healthy Environment and Lives (HEAL) Global Research Centre at the University of Canberra, Australia, and Adjunct Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He is Co-Director of the Clean Air and Planetary Health in Asia (CEPHA) Network, the Clean Energy for Healthy Environments and Lives (CE4HEAL) partnership, and the International Consortium for Urban Environmental Health and Sustainability (Healthy-Polis). Previously, he was Director of Research and Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Occupational Health at the Institute of Occupational Medicine in Edinburgh, and before that, Head of the Environmental Change Department at Public Health England. He also held academic positions at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of Birmingham. Professor Vardoulakis’ main research interests include climate change, health impact assessment, environmental epidemiology, and public health communication and policy. Dr. Kraichat Tantrakarnapa is currently working at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, MAHIDOL University, Thailand. Kraichat has more than 25 years of experience in many natural resources and environmental areas in Thailand and neighboring countries. He has participated in Consulting Units for many organizations and local and international agencies. He has worked in environmental health, environmental health impact assessment, climate change and health impact, occupational health and safety management system, and environmental planning. He holds a bachelor of science in statistics from Chiangmai University in Thailand and a master of science in technology of environmental management from Mahidol University, also in Thailand. Further, he completed Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand. Additionally, he completed postgraduate training in Occupational Health and Safety in the Workplaces at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO) and the University of Torino in Italy. Dr. Richard J. Ball is Reader in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Bath. He graduated from the University of Bath with B.Eng. in materials science and engineering and later completed Ph.D. in materials science, also at Bath. He has published more than 100 papers in refereed international journals covering batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, ceramics, composites, NDT, sensors, sustainable construction materials, and air quality. Recent research has focused on the development of novel coatings for buildings to help improve air quality and the study of air quality in refugee camps around the world.
