Joe Scott really, really wants to be in a soul group. Trouble is he lives in East Lancashire in 1968, where he makes up about ten per cent of the black population. But when he stumbles across Anthony and Winston, two talented young singers, he thinks he's hit the jackpot and The Sacraments are born. Fast forward a quarter of a century to Blackpool where promoter and DJ, Terry Kidd, runs his hugely successful Northern Soul nights. He's picked up The Sacraments single in a New York junk shop and it's going down a storm. Now he has to find them...and he's looking on the wrong continent.
