Overview

More than a collection of poems, Seeking Ordinary Joy tells a story, one that traces our emotional journey from restlessness and doubt, to healing and happiness. Outside of big moments like holidays and vacations and celebrations, life can feel like a series of Wednesdays-those moments in the middle of our true life lived-filled with errands; commuting; working; spending time with friends and family; being a caregiver; learning; doubt; overcoming loss; pursuing passions; questioning. Joy exists in these ordinary moments. It also exists on the other side of sorrow. This contrast is what helps us feel what it means to be human, to find and appreciate what makes us happy. As Martin Luther King, Jr. said, ""I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.""
