Shifting from a career in information technology to freelance writer, Lisa Oltmans is working on several writing projects. Her first published book, See You Now: A Memoir of Shane's Triumph over SMA, details her life raising her only son with debilitating spinal muscular atrophy. Now, Lisa and her husband share their home with two rescued dogs, a papillion named Vinnie and a pomeranian named Griz. They do volunteer work to help other families impacted by SMA.
