Author Information

Michael Nones is an associate professor at the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. He works on fluvial morphodynamics and geomorphology, combining numerical modelling with remote sensing. He is interested in understanding changes in the landscape and sediment transport in rivers. He is currently the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of River Basin Management. Chao Guo is a senior engineer in the River Research Department at the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute, China. His research interests are focused on fine-sediment dynamics, the effects of reservoirs on streamflow and sediment load, and river flood control and management. Hossein Hamidifar is a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. He is an expert in river hydraulics, sediment dynamics, and flood processes. His work has integrated physical and numerical modeling to investigate flow–sediment interactions, flood modelling, and water quality processes in rivers. He has contributed to advancing process-based and data-driven approaches for understanding hydro-morphodynamic systems and improving predictive tools for river management.
