Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDr Dan Diker is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of South Wales (USW) in International Centre for Policing and Security. Dan received his PhD in International Relations and Security Studies from the University of South Wales, Cardiff, UK, under the supervision of Prof Kaunert. He is currently President of the Jerusalem Centre for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA). A specialist in Middle Eastern security and diplomatic strategy, his work examines the intersection of soft power and international security frameworks. He has previously served as a policy analyst and has contributed extensively to scholarly debates on regional stability and non-state actors in the Eastern Mediterranean. He directed the JCPA’s Centre for Contemporary Diplomacy, which brought together foreign Ambassadors, Israeli Government ministers and top leaders. Dan served as policy advisor to the 24th Knesset Forum against BDS and Political Warfare, chaired by MK Amichai Shikli. Since 2013, Dan has also served as Research Fellow at the International Institute for Counter Terrorism, IDC Herzliya, where he founded and hosted Counter Terrorism Today on IDC International Radio. Dan earned his MA in Government and Counter Terrorism Policy, Summa Cum Laude, from Reichman University, Herzliya. Dan received a BA Cum Laude from Harvard University. Prof. Dr Christian Kaunert is Professor of International Security in the School of Law and Government, Dublin City University, Ireland. He is also Professor of Policing and Security, as well as Director of the International Centre for Policing and Security at the University of South Wales. He is a research fellow at Metropolitan University Prague. Previously, he served as Academic Director and Professor at the Institute for European Studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Professor of International Politics, Head of Discipline in Politics, and Director of the European Institute for Security and Justice, a Jean Monnet Centre for Excellence, at the University of Dundee. He was previously Senior Lecturer at the University of Dundee, Marie Curie Senior Research Fellow at the European University Institute Florence, and Senior Lecturer in EU Politics & International Relations, University of Salford. Christian has been invited expert for the European Institute for Public Administration (EIPA), the Counter-Terrorism Committee of the European Parliament, the European Union Institute for Security Studies (an agency of the EU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Over his career, he has been awarded ten prestigious Marie Curie Fellowships, five Jean Monnet Chairs, and, finally, four Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, as well as one Jean Monnet Network of Excellence (EUCTER). Additionally, he was awarded a large Horizon 2020 research grant on Terrorist Radicalisation processes – Mindb4Act, and a large Horizon Europe Marie Curie Doctoral Network EUGLOCTER.
