Secret World of Seahorses

Overview

Visit the enchanting world of seahorses--and learn about their habits, what threatens them, and how we can help them survive. It's hard to see a seahorse! They like to hide alone, they change color to blend in with their surroundings, and they're able to hold very still. But another reason seahorses are so hard to see is that humans have taken so many from the ocean, for trinkets, teas, and tonics. What's more, the animals' habitats--seagrass meadows, coral reefs, and mangroves--are vulnerable to pollution, fishing, and other human activities, as well as the ongoing effects of climate change. With a clear text and brilliantly colorful artwork, this window into the world of an enchanting creature includes engaging final notes about climate change and seahorses--and how we can come to their aid.
