With financial woes on their heels, Sarith and her husband Luke are hoping for the business opportunity of a lifetime. But when it is sold out from under them, the fighting only gets worse. While taking a walk to clear her head, one small slip leads her to a whole new world. Led to town by a talking gorilla, Sarith is shown a world that she can hardly believe; animals that write dreams for humans and magic that is more than just slight of hand. James, grieving the loss of his father, feels like his life is upended. Leaving behind a life of gardening, he now has to take on the job he most respected about his father: dream-writing room supervisor. But this isn't the life he wanted, and as the pressures grow, a single burst of anger changes everything.
