Seacliff Park

Overview

A CHILLING TALE OF TREACHERY... BETRAYAL... AND FOG. 1929. Newlyweds Lily and Charlie set out to build a family amusement park atop a derelict WWI oil tanker-a wedding gift from Lily's father-grounded along the shores of Monterey Bay. They dream of filling their ship with children's laughter. But bootleggers cashing in on Prohibition have other plans, secretly installing a speakeasy in the ship's hold. When war breaks out between rival crime syndicates, Lily and Charlie are caught in the crossfire and must outwit ruthless gangsters to survive-and save each other. Content Warning This novel contains mature themes, strong language, and moderate violence that may be distressing to some readers. Discretion is advised.

Reviews

Captivating Page-turner This captivating page-turner, grounded in accurate historical detail of the 1920-1930 era, masterfully weaves romance and risk with the tense undercurrent of a Prohibition-era syndicate. Its vivid portrayal of Seacliff, California-rendered all the more resonant by my own experience living there-lends the narrative a deeply personal authenticity. A compelling, elegantly written work that both informs and enchants. -Amazon review Visceral Storytelling That Brings the 1920s Alive I was addicted to this book! I don't normally go for historical fiction, but every chapter left me either wanting more or on the edge of my seat. I was pulled into both the lavish highs and the stark realities of life in the 1920s. I'm also familiar with Seacliff, and I love that it gave me a new way to experience it. -Amazon review 5 Stars This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Happy and excited every time I picked it up. Great character development. Very visual storytelling. Loved It! -Goodreads review
