Known for his bold and adventurous spirit, Gordon's poetry often reflected themes of colonial life, nature, and human struggle. Despite his literary talent, he faced financial hardship and personal loss. Gordon died by suicide in 1870, leaving a lasting legacy in Australian literature. His contributions are commemorated with a bust in Poets' Corner at Westminster Abbey. Gregory Dwyer is a New Zealand-born Australian voice actor who spent 24 years working internationally in theatre, film, television, and radio before a hiatus of 22 years, 18 of which were spent as a Forensic Crime Scene Examiner.
