She has worked internationally in various curatorial positions, including for the Biennale of Sydney, the Arko Art Centre Seoul, the Kunsthalle Hamburg, and the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Mara obtained her master's degree in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art and earned her doctorate at Leuphana University Lüneburg. She has published numerous essays on contemporary art and digital technologies and is co-editor of the publications The Sculptural in the (Post)Digital Age and Dada Data.
