OverviewIntroduction: Parturition in nulliparous women is associated with numerous complications. Cephalo-pelvic disproportion occurs when the dimensions of the mother's pelvis are incompatible with the dimensions of the fetal head. Objective: to determine the relationship between external pelvimetry, measurement of maternal size and obstetrical outcome. Methods: this was a cross-sectional, descriptive study with an analytical component. Results: a caesarean section rate of 23.33% was recorded, with a 50% rate for nulliparous women whose size was less than 150cm. a statistical difference was observed between the groups of high and low births (Wilcoxon test: p less than 0.001) for all pelvic diameters, with the smallest diameters found in caesarean sections and nulliparous women whose size was less than 150cm.Conclusion: external pelvimetry, in addition to the consideration of maternal size, is a simple and inexpensive means of detecting pathological pelvises and avoiding cephalo-pelvic disproportion.
