Overview

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and that goes double when she's a sorceress. King Ingvar is a simple man who loves the gods. He has a barley farm, some horses, a beautiful wife named Ulla, and a son named Erik he is proud of. As a king, Ingvar is loved by his people for his courage, character, prowess in battle and wisdom. One night, Ingvar is sent on a quest by Freya herself to rescue Odin's raven, Muninn. But while on this quest, Ingvar falls into a fiery passion with a powerful volva, and promises his heart to her. But this choice, in this love letter to Norse mythology, is full of dark and terrible consequences. Scorn is a grimdark and violent story about accepting responsibility for bad decisions regardless of the consequences, and what it means to be a man and a leader, even when things are at their worst. But I believe there is plenty of emotional depth and complexity for readers of any gender to enjoy.
