Science vs Religion - Five Irreconcilable Contradictions: How and Why Things Happen - Society's Greatest Dichotomy

Overview

It is arguably society's greatest dichotomy but ironically too few seem concerned or interested. Either science is extraordinarily mistaken or the world's two most popular religions (Christianity and Islam) are extraordinarily mistaken in understanding how and why things happen in the world. This includes tragic accidents, devastating diseases, miraculous recoveries, earthquakes, strange phenomena and bizarre coincidences. It extends to the reasons certain people are gifted, why prayer works, the concept of destiny, the age of the Earth, as well as the origins of life and the cosmos. In short, this dichotomy encompasses what most people value as important. Yet science and these religions' understandings cannot both be correct because their respective explanations for worldly events are contradictory. This book clearly and concisely explains why. Which worldview is correct? The author refrains from judgment leaving readers to reach their own conclusions. The book's sole purpose is to call attention to the facts and explain why it's impossible for both science and the two most popular religions to be right. Further, it explains why there is no sensible middle ground which avoids these contradictions. The contradictions with science do not encompass the treasured human qualities of religion, such as morality, camaraderie, caring, love, hope, comfort, tradition, culture and the meaning of life. Instead they pertain to our understanding of reality and what causes events to happen in the physical world around us. They are logical and mutually exclusive contradictions and therefore qualify as facts, not opinion. They exist in perpetuity regardless if one relies on faith or reason for truth. These contradictions greatly affect our understanding of life but are rarely taught in schools, mentioned in popular media, expressed by political leaders or discussed in polite conversation. As a result, people normally lack sufficient information on this subject to make informed decisions on what to believe. Thus, for most people, the evidence and findings presented in this book will be new.
