Jurgen Miethke, Dr. phil. (1967), habilitated Berlin (1970) is Professor of Medieval History at the University of Heidelberg (1983-2003). He was a Fellow of the Historisches Kolleg , Munchen (1988/89) and a Member of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton (1994/5). He has published extensively on church history, intellectual history and political theory.
