Here is an excerpt from the book. Was I really a fake person? I remember asking myself on the long bus ride home from Florida. By the time we had returned to campus from Florida there were many new clicks and groups that formed from the spring tour and there were several couples who started talking over spring tour and ended up getting into a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship by the time we got back to school. In a lot of cases my life has been like watching a movie while sitting in a room with a glass window. On the other side were the actors or other people I was trying to interact with and then on the side I was on it was just me with glass walls all around me. It was very frustrating for me because I have spent years and years trying to learn how to find a door or window to open so I could get out of the glass trap. That following fall would be my last semester at Indiana Wesleyan. My condition was getting worse and I struggled with everything. I was even beginning to fail my music classes because I could not concentrate or focus on my studies. My trombone playing continued to get worse because I was obsessing over the voices I was hearing and hallucinations I was having. Can you imagine trying to play your instrument when either another voice or person is yelling in your ear or the trombone itself starts talking to you? What would that be like?
