Overview

Schindler's Cat is the story of an unlikely hero. Schindler's Cat is told by Otto a stray cat adopted by the Schindlers. Otto tells the story in a way that children can read and understand the horrors of that time in history when a group of people were destroyed because they were different. The lesson taught in this version is that anyone can be a hero if they are willing to speak out against evil in the world.

Jean Vincent Townsend is the author of three other novels, We Three, The Spring Horse, and Hill Billy Colonel- A World War II Story. This is her first children's book based on history told in such a way that children can grasp the ugly truth of the Holocaust and the heroic tale of one man who risked and lost everything he owned to save 1200 Jews who worked in his factory.
