Overview

Schiff-Base sind organische Verbindungen mit der allgemeinen Formel RR′C=NR″, wobei R und R′ Wasserstoff, eine Alkyl- oder eine Arylgruppe darstellen und R″ eine Alkyl- oder Arylgruppe ist; im letzteren Fall werden Schiff-Basen auch Anile genannt. Chalcone sind Verbindungen, bei denen aromatische Substituenten in die Endposition des Systems -CH=CH-CO eingeführt sind. Somit sind Chalcone Phenylstyrylketone, die reaktive Ketoethylengruppen -CO-CH=CH- enthalten. Chalcone sind auch als Benzalacetophenone oder Bezylideneacetophenone, Beta-Phenyl-alphabenzoylethylen bekannt. Schiff-Base- und Chalcon-Derivate haben eine hohe therapeutische Wirksamkeit.
