She had fellowships at The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Training: Developing Nurse Scientists Program, The State of the Science of Nursing Research in Pediatric Oncology at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) of the National Institute of Health (NIH), and the University of Pennsylvania's Summer Nursing Research Institute. She worked as a nurse in the oncology unit of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for 17 years. She is currently an Associate Professor of Nursing at Villanova University.
