Upon seeing the images in this book of his father cooking wild onions, I was reminded of how I learned to hunt wild onions. I was reminded of how I learned to identify sassafras roots in the woods for making tea in the spring as is the custom in Oklahoma Native American communities. I was reminded of how to catch crawdads in those rushing streams and rivers that you will see portrayed in this lexicon of special images. -- Kenneth Johnson
