The Hollow KingThe volume opens in the Grey Marches, a battlefield frozen in a fifty-year stasis. The team locates Spirefall #6, the Hollow King (Kaelen Voss), a general kept alive by the energy of the dead. Ethan absorbs the soul, granting rest to the thousands of preserved corpses that make up Voss's army, and adding the weight of Entropy to his collection.The Chimera and The AnchorVael, the alien commander, returns. He has rebuilt himself into a biological ""Hive"" by consuming his own soldiers and his brother, Krexil. He engages Arzuq Valen in a duel that shatters the geography of the continent. The fight escalates beyond simple combat into a war of physics: - The Ascent: Vael kicks Arzuq into the upper atmosphere.- The Void: They fight in the vacuum of space, where Arzuq uses his density to weaponize orbital debris.- The Re-Entry: Arzuq grabs Vael and uses the alien as a heat shield, plummeting back to earth at Mach 25. They impact the Great Salt Plains, turning the desert floor into a crater of molten glass.- The End of Vael: Arzuq crushes Vael into a sphere of super-dense refuse the size of a grapefruit, leaving the alien commander buried in the salt.The SeparationFollowing the battle, Arzuq realizes he has become too heavy to ascend further. His mere presence destabilizes the floating magnetic islands leading to the Sky Dominion. He is forced to stay behind, entrusting the final climb to Cael Marr, Ilea, and Ethan.The Fall of the Sky DominionThe team ascends to the Sky Dominion, a pristine city floating above the clouds, powered by the suffering of ""Grounded"" workers. They confront Aerion Kall (Spirefall #9), the Sky King. Aerion reveals he is not a tyrant, but a battery holding the city aloft. Ethan fights him but cannot defeat him with force alone.- The New Battery: To save the city from falling when he dies, Aerion tricks his ambitious strategist, Vaelor Thane, into the Omega Engine. Vaelor is fused to the machine, becoming the new living battery trapped in eternal agony.- The Grounding: With the engine stabilized, Aerion orders the city to land. The floating metropolis descends to the earth, ending the age of the Skyborne.The Final KeyOn the ground, a frail and dying Aerion Kall kneels before Ethan. Ethan executes the King, absorbing the 9th Spirefall (Authority). The set is complete. The team then moves to the Real Peak, a massive black needle piercing the atmosphere. The volume concludes as they encounter the final guardian: Aethryx Vaelis, the Ice Dragon, waiting for them in the death zone.
