She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University and a Master of Arts degree in environmental studies from the University of Illinois at Springfield.Layla now serves as the operations manager of Slater Wealth Management, the Peoria-based firm she co-owns with her husband, Brian. She is deeply committed to her community, serving on the board of Family House of Peoria, volunteering for the Hydrocephalus Association, and advocating as an Epilepsy Awareness Ambassador.
