Author Information

Hi, I'm Jessy. I publish books in languages I don't speak so children can read books in languages they do speak. Legends have always fascinated me. Do they give your children a sense of wonder too? As an Australian poet, it's hard to find work in the Outback. But there are children all over the world struggling to learn how to read. Some of them have hardly any books in their native language. That's why I created the Bilingual Legends series - to give as many children as possible the opportunity to read a story in their own native language. Usually, each book in the series is published in the language spoken in the land where that story originates. A typical book also includes the text in English, but in some cases Spanish, Portuguese, German, or another language is used instead. I hope you enjoy reading my books! Bethany is a hobbyist artist whose mind dwells in mythical lands more frequently than it does in reality. An eternal student, she has studied both philosophy and science, and has recently started a new degree in counselling. She spends much of her spare time writing, drawing, walking or hanging out with her pet snake. Eduardo de la Cruz Cruz is a native speaker of Nahuatl, originally from Chicontepec, Veracruz, Mexico. He is an instructor in the Nahuatl language and culture summer programme at the University of Utah. He holds the position of director at IDIEZ (https: //idiezmacehualli.org) where he directs projects for the revitalisation of Nahuan culture and language. He currently teaches at Brown University, where he is an associate professor. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of ""Liberal Arts"" at the University of Warsaw.De la Cruz is part of the research team at the Getty Research Institute from 2017-2023. He is also the author and co-author of several monolingual books in Nahuatl, including ""Cenyahtoc Cintli Tonacayo: Huahcapatl Huan Tlen Naman"" and ""Tototatahhuan Ininixtlamatliz"". His main topics of study include indigenous methodologies, ceremonial practices of maize cultivation, and Nahua welfare concepts.
