OverviewThe Cross and the Qur'an Today, the Church has forgotten the Gospel, and rather than preach repentance, they preach a false gospel that perverts grace, as if mere faith is a license to sin and to go unpunished. God allowed Islam to come for this reason, for while the Law does not save, it is the Law that makes us conscious of sin. Before we can repent, we must feel sorrow for our sins, but if we neglect the Law of God, we have no ability to repent, as we no longer feel shame for our sinful thoughts and behaviors. For this reason, God allowed Islam to come, not so Christians convert to Islam, but so that Christians realize the holiness of God and His Law, and thus come to true repentance. While God had this purpose for Islam, the man-made religion of Islam is false, and in their zeal for observing God's Law, they have perverted the Law and omitted the cross. However, this is from a misunderstanding of the Qur'an, based on one small verse. While English translations insert brackets, to say that another was crucified in place of Jesus, a more careful reading will reveal the truth, that it was Jesus who died in our place.
