She was just a child, but author Quanshavia Green had experienced more than any child should undergo. Because of childhood trauma, she began developing maladaptive behavior patterns of abuse toward her siblings and disregard for the suffering of others. This only intensified with her father's abandonment of the family, being one of eight children, and being misunderstood by family who weren't seeing her isolation and behavior as a cry for help.
