Overview

The SAT Vocabulary Made Easy series of books is intended for students 7-12 as well as ESL students who wish to enhance their language skills. It is mainly a college preparatory series intended to aid students in taking entrance exams. I created and used these books for perhaps 20 years in my teaching career and had many students come back to me and tell me how helpful they had been. Each book contains over 500 words, and when multiplied by six levels, students are exposed to over 3000 words specifically chosen for their common occurrence on college entrance exams. Also included in the books are group of Greek and Latin root words, prefixes and suffixes which also add to a student's understanding of the English language. Each level contains 30 lessons, which I found to be helpful in managing my lesson plans. There were enough lessons to cover an entire year of classes, yet few enough to allow for a grace period of a week or two at the beginning and end of each year. The books contain a complete dictionary definition of each word, a pronunciation key and a list of the parts of speech that each word may be. There are frequent reviews of the words, both at each level and throughout the series, to help re-enforce the learning of the words. The series is mainly intended for classroom use as a workbook, with a teacher copy as well as a student one. They come in two venues, one is a print version, so everyone can have his or her own copy, or it also comes in an E-book version to be used with a computer. The teacher book contains all the answers to the exercises, and I have also included a test book with answer keys for the teachers as well, so no having to type a test each week.
