Henshaw is a Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery (Orthopedic Oncology) at Georgetown University School of Medicine and Director of Orthopedic Oncology at Medstar Georgetown Orthopedic Institute. He serves as Vice Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Director of Orthopedic Oncology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, and consultant to the Surgical Branch of the National Cancer Institute at the National Institute of Health. Dr. Henshaw received his degree in mechanical engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center followed by fellowship training in Orthopedic Oncology at Washington Hospital Center. Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Henshaw specializes in the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal tumors in children and adults. As director of the musculoskeletal tumor fellowship program at Medstar, Dr. Henshaw is very active in research, education and training of doctors in his specialty. A primary investigator for multiple clinical trials, he has over 160 presentations, publications and book chapters in the field of orthopedic oncology.
