A bilingual French and English speaker, Sophie has had more than 70 novels published in Australia and internationally, mostly for young adults and children. Her books have been recognised by many literary awards, including the NSW Premier's Literary Awards, the Children's Book Council of Australia awards, the Aurealis Awards and the Davitt Awards. In 2019, Sophie was awarded an AM in the Order of Australia for her significant service to literature. She has served on the Literature Board of the Australia Council, and has also served as the Chair of the Board of Management of the Australian Society of Authors. She is the President of the New England and North-West sub branch of the Children's Book Council of NSW, and is the current Chair of the New England Writers' Centre and Vice-President of the Small Press Network. Sophie lives in country New South Wales with her husband, and has three grown-up children and three – soon to be four – grandchildren. Shiloh Gordon has a passion for creating lively, engaging illustrations that are full of character and fun. He graduated with a BA in animation from the Queensland College of Art and has worked as a professional illustrator for over 20 years. His work has included illustrations for magazines, eBooks and educational materials. This is his first picture book.
